Zillow sells attention. It does not sell a site you own.
Zillow is the portal buyers already open. Premier Agent / Zillow Pro is buying that attention. Follow Up Boss is the Zillow-owned CRM (acquisition closed December 8, 2023). Espo is the demand you own: site, listings, ads on your account. This is not “leave Zillow.”
We will not print a Premier Agent dollar. Official agent-ad pricing is account- and ZIP-specific. The Follow Up Boss card is public — see /compare/fub.
Credit where it is due
What Zillow does well.
If a buyer starts on Zillow, paying to be the agent they see is a real channel — when you can prove it closes.
Follow Up Boss remains a standalone CRM with a public card (Grow $69/user, Pro $499/10, top $1,000/30, calling +$39) after the 2023 acquisition. Independent brand, Zillow parent.
For some teams, portal leads plus a CRM they already live in is the whole top of funnel. That can be the right call.
Buy Zillow when you can name the close rate. Keep FUB when the team already lives there.
Capability by capability
The working comparison.
Based on public information. Partial stays partial; a missing row is not turned into a win.
| Capability | Zillow | Espo |
|---|---|---|
| Real-estate-exclusive | Yes | Yes |
| Consumer portal demand | Yes | — |
| Full CRM (Follow Up Boss, separate SKU) | Yes | Yes |
| IDX website on a domain you own | — | Yes |
| Public CRM price (Follow Up Boss) | Yes | Yes |
| Public Premier Agent sticker | — | Yes |
| Managed ads on your own Meta account | — | Yes |
| Listing launches on your domain | — | Yes |
| A human operator included | — | Yes |
The boundary
Where Zillow stops.
Rented attention is not a brand, and a Zillow profile is not yourname.com.
You do not own the listing page
The consumer URL is Zillow’s. Build five years of reviews there and the day the ad pauses, the traffic pauses. Espo listing pages live on your domain.
No public Premier Agent sticker here
ZIP, package, and Flex vs core spend are account-specific. We will not invent a monthly dollar. Ask Zillow for the current order form.
FUB is still just a CRM
Zillow owning Follow Up Boss does not give you an IDX site, listing video, or Meta on your account. That guide is /compare/fub.
Zillow can be a lead source. It cannot be the owned front door.
The difference
What Espo adds around it.
Espo does not pretend to be Zillow. We build the demand you keep:
Keep buying Zillow if the close rate is in writing. Add Espo so the next seller finds you without a portal invoice.

Which fits the job now?
Choose Espo if…
- Want ads on your own account with no percentage-of-spend fee, and a person running them.
- Want listing launches — page, video, QR, social — live in about 21 days.
- Want an AI-ready site on a domain you own, not a vendor template you operate.
- Run a team of up to 10 agents and want one decision for the full stack.
Choose Zillow if…
- Portal leads are already closing and you can name the number.
- You want Follow Up Boss as the CRM and you will assemble site and ads elsewhere.
- You are fine that the consumer URL stays zillow.com.
- You do not need listing launches or an owned AI-ready site from this buy.
Straight answers
Questions about Zillow.
Is Follow Up Boss the same as Zillow Premier Agent?
No. FUB is a CRM Zillow Group acquired (closed December 8, 2023). Premier Agent / Zillow Pro is the consumer-portal ad product. Separate bills. See /compare/fub.
What does Premier Agent cost?
We will not print a dollar. Official pricing is ZIP- and package-specific. Ask Zillow for the current order form.
Do I have to stop buying Zillow to use Espo?
No. Many teams keep a portal budget and add an owned site plus listing launches. The honest test is whether you can name last quarter’s portal close rate.
